these are photos of baltimore's gay pride day, 6/10/2000. i helped
run the
primetimers table
there. sorry some of these are a little blurry; i keep forgetting
that i have to move a switch on the camera to change between close,
medium, and far shots.
click on any photo to see a larger version of it.

some other booths across from the primetimers booth. maryland

patients), then chesapeake squares (the gay square dancing group),

some guys at the primetimers table. the fellow in the middle hadn't
been out of his nursing home in over two years. his social worker got
him in touch with us, and we got him out for the day. comments

(ok, that's really awful, but i can't resist the pun. it was
painfully hot out there.)

the main stage. there was a terrific jazz guitarist playing there.
after she finished her set, someone from the staff came out to say,
"let's give her a big round of applause. now remember, there are
donation boxes all around the site, so if you want to hear something
better next year, go make a contribution." i should have followed my
first instinct, and gone up on stage to chew him out for that. i
couldn't believe how disrespectful he was to her. hope she didn't
take it to heart; she was wonderful.

the kids area. i thought the games were free, but found out you had
to buy tickets to play. 25 cents/ticket, and 6 tickets to play the
larger games like the inflated jumping thing. oh, well; guess they
had to offset the cost of renting it. comments
