10/26/2003 -- a new camera!
after years of faithful service, the agfa camera finally died. at
least, i assume it's dead. even with new batteries, it won't turn on.
it may only be sleeping, awaiting the day it will rise and avenge its
abandonment. in the meantime, anyway, i bought this fancy new canon,
and it arrived just in time for a trip to west virginia.

(you can read the historical marker about berkeley springs in the
full-sized photo. the museum is on the top floor of this building, but
unfortunately was not open when we were there.)

we came back through harper's ferry, and ate again at the hilltop
house, which looks closer to falling into the valley with each passing
year.
